About the Role:
Vitacore Industries is looking for an Engineering Team Lead with a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation to develop, train, lead, and manage the engineering team. The engineering team plays a crucial role in setting up and maintaining manufacturing and recycling equipment, among many other projects.
This individual will also work closely with the R&D team, assisting with various R&D-focused projects, manufacturing processes, facility improvements, or other projects required by the company, all the while applying their past experience.

Responsibilities include:

  • Technical leadership and guidance: Offer solutions to complex technical problems, ensuring the team is following best practices.
  • Team Management and Development: Support the professional growth of team members through mentoring, one-on-ones, and training opportunities.
  • Project Management: Work closely with product managers, stakeholders, and team members to set project priorities and define timelines.
  • Cross-functional communication: Work closely with product management, design, and other teams to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables.
  • Customer focus: Ensure that the team is aligned with user needs, understanding, and incorporating customer feedback when necessary.
  • Ensure Quality and Efficiency: Ensure that the team adheres to coding standards, testing protocols, and documentation requirements.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Professional Engineering (P.Eng) designation and registration with Engineers & Geoscientists BC (EGBC).
  • Project management experience.
  • Proficient in English with strong communication skills, specifically in report writing.
  • 3-5 years leadership/managerial experience.
  • Engineering Design experience.
  • Programming experience.
  • Manufacturing or related mechanical experience.
  • Fabrication.
  • Prototyping.
  • Training and teaching Engineers in Training (EITs).
  • Solidworks.
  • MS Excel.
  • Programming language (at least one of the following):
    • Python
    • Java
    • MATLAB
    • C, C++, C#
    • PLC
  • Hand tools.

Designations in One or More of the Following Disciplines:
  • Mechanical.
  • Electrical.
  • Biomedical.
  • Physics.
  • Manufacturing.
  • Mechatronics.
  • Computer.
  • Master of Engineering is an asset.

Compensation:
  • From $100,000 to $120,000 CAD per annum.
